Ruth Coppinger is Anti-Austerity Alliance TD for Dublin West.

She was first elected in a by-election in 2015, and was re-elected in the 2016 General Election winning the second seat.

Since being elected Ruth has been the leading voice for women’s rights in the Dáil – moving the Repeal Bill to allow for a referendum on the 8th Amendment, highlighting the scandalous cost of childcare, and opposing cuts to Lone Parents.

She is a key campaigner on the housing crisis having led protests & occupations highlighting the government’s inaction and as a member on the Oireachtas Housing Committee putting forward socialist solutions for to end the crisis.
